The Razr Family is Expanding! Razr V3i, Pink Razr, Blue Razr, Verizon Razor

The classic silver Motorola Razr captured the lions share of new cell phone buying over the past year or so, causing Motorola to encroach on Nokias enviable leading position.

Motorola is planning to cash in on its huge success with the razor thin look and feel of the original Razr v3. The NPD Group, a leading cellular market researcher, found that Motorola cell phone sales accounted for 30% of the 31.6 million cell phones sold in the third quarter of 2005. The Motorola V3i with iTunes software and the Pink and Blue cell phones promise to give Motorola an ever-increasing share of the cell phone market.

People who care about how they look or want to make a statement, will be the first to get their Motorola Razr fix. These Razr thin phones are ceating a lot of attention - making them must-haves in some circles.

Mazal Tov!

The Motorola Razor family is growing by four new members; Motorola RAZR Pink (RAZR PNK?) and Razr Blue, (RAZR BLU?) plus two new versions - Motorola cdma RAZR for verizon with EVDO and Motorola RAZR V3i (with iTunes). The new Razr phones include all the great features as the original models. The Blue and Pink versions are really style updates designed to make your cell phone an accessory - like a stylish watch.

The new cdma version of Razr (for Verizon) will satisfy the appetite of Verizon Wireless subscribers who have long ogled over Cingular and T-Mobiles Razr offerings. The Razr V3i aims to redeem Motorolas slightly tarnished reputation when it comes to MP3 phones. Unlike the Rocker which had only music going for it, with the Razr V3i the MP3 capability is essentially an add-on.

The Motorola has not made a statement about the chosen carrier for the Motorola v3i many are speculating that Cingular is the choice. Besides being Razr thin like the original razr v3 the new v3i has added appeal with the inclusion of the Apple i-Tunes software like on the Motorola Rokr released in September in by Cingular, Apple and Motorola. Cingular just slashed the price of the Motorola Rokr by 40% and several leading cell phone dealers like AmericanCell and YouNeverCall now have the Motorola phone available for free with the purchase of a new Cingular plan.

Until now the Motorola Rokr is the only cell phone around that plays tunes from the iTunes music store. Another new addition to the ever increasing Motorola Razr family is new razr vc which operates on networks of cdma standard wireless EVDO. Christmas holiday season shopping has now been enhanced with the inclusion of the Razr V3i which sports a 1.23-megapixel digital camera with 8x digital zoom, video capture and a full-screen viewfinder.

Additional features include a hot plugging memory card, a display with sixty-five K color support and built-in Bluetooth. For the late summer-early fall season Motorola earned a profit of $1.75 billion on revenue of $9.42 billion. Motorola stated that its monetary gains for this period were all due to the tremendous success of the Motorola razr v3. now Motorola is hoping to further push its financial gains for the next quarter! Well wait and see.

Mike Holmgren owes Bill Cowher and NFL Fans an Apology

Since when is it OK to totally snub the winner of an NFL game, let alone the biggest game of the year, the Super Bowl? Well that's exactly what mike Holmgren, the head coach of the Seattle Seahawks, did on Super bowl sunday after his team lost the game. not only did he not meet coach Cowher, the longest tenured coach in the NFL, on the 25 yard line for a congratulatory handshake as scheduled, it was actually Cowher who had to go out of his way to find Holmgren. The moment finally took place in the Seahawks locker room, so I can speculate on who pursued who. At a time when he should be enjoying his much deserved win, Coach Cowher was chasing down a sore loser, because Cowher knows how it works. The deal isn't done until the handshake. It's tradition, a tradition rooted in good sportsman ship. A tradition that Holmgren dismissed because he was angry. What a great example, what a wonderful role model he was to all of the kids watching.

In 1995, Cowher and the Steelers lost the Super bowl to the Dallas Cowboy's under similar circumstances. Bad officiating, lot's of "if'y" calls, touch downs that really weren't. But when the clock expired and the game was over, Bill Cowher marched right into the center of the field and shook the victor's hand and offered a few kind words. He didn't slither out of the back door, he also didn't return to his teams host city and bad mouth the officiating. He did give a losing coaches interview in the locker room and was seen embracing his tear-soaked family, obviously broken hearted by the loss. Coach Cowher has given his respect, he has given his props, he has played by the rules, and yet, even though he is the longest tenured coach in the NFL, everyone in the media, on sportscenter, even the NFL itself refuses to admit that Holmgren snubbed Cowher because he was angry. I wonder if this story would have been bigger had it been Bill Belichick that got shafted?

Don't get me wrong, I didn't have any axe to grind with mike Holmgren, not until he pulled this nonsense. I've always thought he was a stand up guy, I even pulled for him and his Super bowl Champion Green Bay Packers in 97'. You see mike has been around the block a few times. He's not some 35 year old hot-head who's never seen the inside of the Super bowl. The man has been there twice not including this last appearance, walking away with one trophy and one heartache. For him to be such a veteran coach with so much big game experience makes this insult and lack of respect from him even harder to swallow.

The NFL is talking about fining him for the remarks he made to the home town crowd in Seattle, in which he insinuated that the referee's were responsible for their loss to the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers. I sincerely hope they levy the largest fine possible on his plump "wallet". Because the statement is not true. The Seattle Seahawks had just as much chance to win that game as did the Pittsburgh Steelers, but it was a battle of coaching and Holmgren was definitely out coached by Cowher. In the waning minutes of both halves of the game, Holmgren was managing the clock like it was a pre-season contest, not the Super bowl. Constant mistakes which ground away the clock and his teams chance to win. His kicker missed field goals, field goals that super bowl champ's MUST make, just ask the New england Patriots. His best receiver dropped nearly every pass thrown his way. His MVP of the league running back never saw the inside of the end zone. Holmgren started the game passing, yet when crunch time rolled around and the clock was going away, he thought it was a good time to start running the ball for 3 and 4 yard gains. Yet Holmgren takes the low road and calls the ref's out and points his finger of blame in their faces.

On the other side of the field Coach Cowher was planning his work and working his plan, devising plays that totally caught the Seahawks off guard, including the Rothlisberger TD that was subjected to review, even though the ball obviously grazed the goal line, the Willie Parker run that caught Seattle in the all-out blitz that gave Parker clear sailing once he cleared the line, the end-a-round from Randle El to Ward for the kill shot. All Bill Cowher calls, all at the perfect time, and all very very effective against an absolutey bewildered Seahawks defense.

I hope this piece winds up, somehow, in front of mike Holmgren because I have something to say to him: "mike, Mr. Holmgren, Coach, you lost the game not because of bad officiating, you lost the game because you are not as good of a Coach as Bill Cowher. He took you to school, so try to learn a few things from him instead of throwing a tantrum and disrespecting one of the greatest coaches in league history. I can only hope that one day someone shows you total disrespect at a time when you should be congratulated for a job well done. You lost. Live with it."

My congratulations go out to the World Champion Pittsburgh Steelers, but more than that, I want to extend my respect and admiration for a true class act, Coach Bill Cowher, a native of Pittsburgh, which has gotta make this all the more sweeter. Although I don't play football, or any sport for that matter, you will always be my head coach.

Finding the Right Yoga Teacher for You

Yoga has had resurgence in popularity over the last few decades and new classes form everywhere every day. Thousands of new teachers are certified every year, but with such a large percentage of new teachers, how can we be sure we're getting the yoga knowledge and teaching ability we seek?

The different schools of yoga are really all based on the same movements, or yoga asanas, but they do it in different tempos and combinations in order to achieve specific results. The school's stated purpose can be a good place to start. For example, if you're looking to lose weight, you'll want one of the quicker-paced schools. If you're looking for spiritual repose, you may prefer a slower-paced yoga with longer holds. This is largely a matter of personal preference, and several schools may all meet a single type of need, so don't give up if the first one you choose isn't what you hoped for.

finding the right kind of teacher to whom you'll respond isn't always easy. In the first place, there is no real certification processed or approved training sequence. Without these standards almost anyone can hold themselves out as professional yoga instructors.

Find out what kind of training a proposed teacher has had. What school of yoga did he study? How many hours did he put in before becoming a teacher? A program that includes not only learning, but also practice teaching sessions, and is around 200 hours seems to be standard. You'll find some certification programs that take a year or more to complete, and those that are an intense weekend of correspondence-type study. Expect to pay more to and learn more from the former. Avoid the latter altogether.

Also check his experience. How long has he been teaching? Usually, the longer the experience, the better the teacher, but if he's new, don't rule him out on that alone. Talk to some of his students. What do they like about him and what would they change? How do they feel after a session with him? Compare their answers with your ideal of a yoga instructor.

If you're new to yoga, you may want to have a discussion with a potential instructor. Find out how she got into yoga, and what styles and schools she's tried. Ask what she focuses on the most in her classes - strength? Flexibility? Balance? Meditation? Does she limit the size of her classes? If you're attending for a specific medical reason, such as high blood pressure or back pain, make sure she has experience with those conditions.

Some good clues to look for are 1) is the teacher enthusiastic about yoga and its myriad of benefits for students? 2) Does he seem knowledgeable, using sanskrit names for the asanas? These things don't guarantee expertise, of course, but they indicate a good amount of time spent in study.

after you've checked her credentials and chosen your yoga instructor, try a few lessons before you commit to any length of study. You'll want to assure yourself that you and she are compatible as student and teacher. Do you like the routines she leads? Do you find her instruction easy to follow? Does she give individual help when you need it? Does she provide demonstrations? Does she care about her students and watch over them carefully to assure they are doing the asanas correctly and in a way they aren't prone to injury? Does she correct not only with words, but also with gentle physical repositioning? Are you overly sore when you finish a session? This may be a sign of an unbalanced routine and another teacher may be in order.

Again, don't be discouraged with a bad teacher. Just try again. There's always another, better, yoga teacher just around the corner.
